GUARD CONFESSES OF KILLING THE IHK DOCTOR CATHERINE AGABA

Police has recovered the body of Catherine Agaba, a medical doctor at International Hospital Kampala (IHK), who was reported missing on April 13, by her boyfriend.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, said Agaba’s body was recovered from a septic tank in a compound of her rental in Muyenga, on Monday afternoon. The rental is part of a block of semi-finished apartments.

Agaba was reported missing on April 13, and a case filed with the Police by her boyfriend. The discovery of Catherine Agaba’s body followed the arrest of security guard Richard Obonga in Apac.

Onyango said the discovery of Agaba’s body followed the arrest of a guard, Richard Obonga in Apac.

Upon his arrest, Obonga, according to Police, confessed: “I participated in the murder and I dumped the body in a septic tank.”

Obonga told the Police that he killed Agaba because she said she would report him to his boss for dodging work, among other things related to negligence of duty. Onyango said several items belonging to Agaba were found at Obonga’s place when he was arrested.

The area LCI chairperson identified the suspect as Ronald Obonga, a 24-year-old guard. He said the house belongs to Kooki chiefdom Prime minister Chiefdom Prime Minister Hajji Ahmed Kiwanuka.
Local authorities said Obonga killed Dr Agaba in attempt to protect his job. The doctor had reportedly accused the guard of not doing a good job.
“We found her sub-woofer, phone and other items in his possession,” the area LCI chairperson said.

Earlier reports were conflicting; two men were accusing each other of infidelity. A one Muhammad, Kenyan pursuing Master’s degree in medicine accused another doctor, who he claimed was having extra marital affairs with the deceased.

However, the arresting of the guard does not exonerate the fighting boyfriends; they might be sponsors of her death. Remember Brenda Karamuzi and Tonku? This is the style of killing and the circumstances, remain the same.
