Assailants brutally kill Woman & her son in Sheema District

The Police in the Greater Bushenyi Region are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a woman and her son in Rubare village, in Nyarweshama Ward in the Central Division of Sheema Municipality.

Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesman Martial Tumusiime identified the deceased as Sylivia Atusasire and her 2 year old son whose names were not immediately established. It is reported that the deceased had organised a birth day party for her child and as they were coming from the party they were attacked and killed.

The assailants are not yet known and police is still doing investigations. The deceased has been taken to the hospital for postmortem. Details of what exactly happened who killed will be brought after the investigations.

The police spokes Person Mr. Tumusiime said that he cannot say much since investigations are still in the process but confirmed the death of a son and her mother who were from the birth day party.

Tumusiime told journalists today morning that the two were reportedly hacked to death by yet-to-be known assailants, and the bodies were dumped at Kyogyera Playground.

The late Atusasire has been operating a canteen at Bishop Mcallister College in Kyogyera, in Sheema district and met her death when she was returning from a birthday party for her now-deceased son.

Tumusiime did not divulge more information saying that a detailed report will be issued later but the gruesome murder could have happened a few hours past midnight. It is alleged that the murder may have been the deceased’s husband though not yet confirmed but intorragations are on going. The deceased is said to have been a woman in her late 30’s . She has been operating a restaurant in the Sherman Town and it’s alleged that during the time of her death she was from the party.
