Dr. Sam Lyomoki
Vote tallying for the General Workers Elections  was at Kibuli Secondary school, where the comic legislator, who had spent the last 20 years representing workers without effective result save for his comedies that included photographing himself at parliament, claiming to have slept there. Well, at the end of tallying votes for workers representatives in Parliament at Kibuli Secondary School in Kampala, last evening, one incumbent Workers’ Member of Parliament , Hon Dr Sam Lyomoki  failed to return to retain his parliamentary seat.
Those who were elected in  hotly contested elections were: an Independent candidate Hon Margaret Rwabushaija Namubiru who polled highest 291votes. Hon Arinaitwe Rwakajara(NRM) was elected with 271 votes and former Sports State Minister Hon Charles Bakkabulindi (NRM) retained his seat with 228 votes.
The only new legislator who was elected to represent Workers in Parliament is Hon Dr Abdhulu Byakatonda who polled 174 votes to take the fourth slot.
Incumbent Female Workers’ Member of Parliament Hon Agnes Abwoli Kunihira (NRM) had little trouble retaining her seat after trouncing her only Challenger Ms Annet Birungi  by 332 votes against 161.
It should be noted that workers are not comfortable with the processes of voting, which limit many who should have voted. Otherwise, they say (workers) that Hon Arinaitwe Rwkajara and Charles Bakabulindi should not have returned.
The two are accused, separately, of various corrupt acts; whereas Hon. Charles Bakabulindi is accused of selling of Nakivubo Stadium; Hon Rwakajara is accused of selling media equipment for workers and many more issues at hand.  Dr. Obuku was another alternative as he is  known for his eloquence.
