Judge saves Habib Kagimu property

This is probably a common story that has been doing rounds in Kampala, citing an Indian businessman who used to bait native businessmen with attractive loan packages.

Surpringly, the said Indian crook, would hide at the last minute when the loan is due. All his known phone lines would be off so that he incriminates his loan victims.

Apparently, another Kampala businessman outsmarted him one day; he reportedly went and told late Tumusiime Mutebile, former Governor Bank of Uganda, who banked the loan straight from the Central Bank the Indian’s account. The following day when the Indian was preparing to go and confiscate the property he received a phone call from Governor Bank of Uganda, informing him that his money from the businessman was banked the previous day. He was outsmarted!

Another businessman on Nkrumah Road reportedly outsmarted this Indian by confusing him and handing over a land title for boysquarters, yet the Indian thought it was the main house. When the time came and he came to confiscate the house, it was revealed that the title was for boysquarters.

Now, this happened to Hajj Habib Kagimu. However, Habib Kagimu was helped by court. The Judge Stephen Mubiru saved him. After studying the whole work plan of the money hungry Indian businessman, who had connived with officials in CBA Bank, the Judge asked Habib Kagimu, ” do you have their remaining money?’ Habib Kagimu reportedly told the judge that in two months he would get that money. Then he was allowed to look for money in two months, which he brought and banked through court account.

As it is, the angered and defeated Indian is now using media to justify his failed plan to confiscate Kagimu’s property. He is portraying Habib Kagimu and bankrupt businessman. This is a new strategy unscruprous businessmen are using to cheat fellow businessmen.
