Lugolobi in coolers Anita Among in thoughts

Finance Minister who is also Kayunga district MP Amos Lugolobi has been arrested over iron sheets scandal, sources say he is currently held in coolers at Police station in Kira.
He has also just returned hundreds of Iron sheets to the OPM. Lugolobi is a brother to MP Aidah Nantaba.
Now, according to close sources the next fish to be hooked is Speaker of the 11th Parliament, Anita Annet Among, who thought by returning iron sheets (mabaati), she would be exonerated.  It is, a thief is a thief, returning of the iron sheets is evidence that she had actually stolen.
Sources tell The Drone Media that officers working on files are receiving incessant phone calls, but they are also in a fix. The authority asked for thorough investigations and clear files to be forwarded to the Office of Public Prosecutions without a blemish, but here they are getting calls.
Anita Annet Among was reported to have returned the 500 pieces of iron sheets she had gotten knowing they were meant for the needy. There are allegations that she actually, instead received 1000 pieces, which were signed for by management at her personal and privately run school; Bukedea Progressive Academy.
Whereas media houses carried the “Speaker Returns `Evil` Iron sheets” headlines, our esteemed readers should know  that the same were rejected by the OPM stores over breach of procurement rules.
Meanwhile Police have confirmed the arrest  and detention of State Minister for Finance Amos Lugoloobi over his involvement in the Karamoja iron sheets scandal.

According to the police spokesperson, Lugoloobi’s arrest follows the sanctioning of charges against him by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“Following the ongoing investigations into the alleged theft and diversion of Iron sheets meant for the Karamoja region, the office of the DPP has sanctioned criminal charges against Hon. Amos Lugolobi, the Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development.”

The development comes on the backdrop of the release on bail of Minister for Karamoja, Mary Goretti Kitutu on Friday morning after spending on remand almost a week.
