Baryomunsi bitter over Ministers’ arrests

The Minister for ICT and National guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has lashed out at president Museveni over the wave of arrests that have triggered fear in cabinet. This follows the Friday arrest of state Minister for Finance and Planning Hon. Amos Lugoloobi.

Baryomunsi condemned Museveni for being selective in the mode of arrests. According to Baryomunsi, even people who are returning iron sheets should be prosecuted. He cites the speaker of Parliament Anita Among who acknowledged receiving the stolen items and went on to return them to OPM stores.

“Let the law be fair and all the culprits be got at once. In wanting to please NUP, president Museveni is making mistakes,” Baryomunsi is quoted to have said. “These are cabinet Ministers. They don’t deserve to be treated like criminals. It’s wrong and absurd,” the ICT Minister asserted.
