NEWREST GIVES UGANDA AIRLINES RAW DEAL

Of all airlines flying regional routes, Uganda Airlines probably serves the best food in the skies. But the airlines customers are getting increasingly angry at the way the food is packed.

Customers complain that while they like the warm snacks served by Uganda Airlines, the way it is packed makes one think it was picked from a kiosk downtown. The snacks come on a rectangular form plate shabbily wrapped in layers and layers of plastic foil.

Besides being a turn off, it takes several minutes to open the foil if one takes care not to damage the contents.

“Yes, it was wrapped shabbily when I used it last Saturday like for William street,” commented one customer who recently used the airline.

The above comment was in answer to a question from another customer who was wondering if the packaging of the food had been improved for the flights to Dubai which use not only the state of the art Airbus A330-800neo but also face stiff competition from world class air airlines such as Emirates and Flydubai.

With such a lousy packaging, the Airline would struggle to win customer loyalty. When we deployed our drones to establish the truth, we found that the airline is innocent. The problem is with Newrest, the French airlines catering company that took over Uganda Inflight Services.

Our drones reported that Uganda Airlines management have repeatedly complained about the poor packaging and have always been assured that it will change but it never does. At this rate, it might be wise to investigate the possibility that this is a subtle form of sabotage intended to hurt the newest airline in the region.

It should be remembered that there have been issues concerning foods and their packaging, but they were never  corrected.
