Notorious car robber Kazahuura is out

Robert Ssempebwa alias Kazahuura, who reportedly masterminded the brutal murders of several car owners in the past years is out of prison and partying hard.

The drones pumped into the wicked Kazahura partying hard at Sheraton Kampala Hotel Equator Bar, last night.

Kazahura who has not changed physically nor his lifestyle, was seen vibing brown girls. The thin and wicked Kazahuma still wore golden chains and held three mobile phones.

KAZAHURA’S MISDEEDS

Kazahura’s gang consisted of tough guys who were hard to net by security because of the tricks they used. They used the phones of their victims to call and hoodwink Police that the last caller was the prime suspect in the murder. Other tricks included befriending their victims before hiring them to their death traps.

Kazahura was a dealer on William Street where, together with his colleagues were in the mobile phone businesses. He once told his friend known as Nakibinge that he wouldn’t mind killing anyone who stepped in his way.

Ssempebwa used to drive cars with Congolese number plates and had a pistol and a gun. He claimed he worked for CMI and that he had links with several big shots in the army. At times Kazahura would arrest suspected criminals and handed them over to the Police. He reportedly served in the Rwandan army before he fled to Uganda.

Businessmen Edward Buyondo, Kenneth Nakibinge and Steven Kayiwa all associated closely with Robert Ssempebwa alias Kazahuura and Ronald Asiimwe alias Kanyankole, who confessed to have robbed cars and killed their owners.

Friends of this gang disclosed that Kazahuura and Kanyankole deployed beautiful women to befriend car owners at pubs. At the end of a drinking session the women would persuade the men to give them a lift back home, only to lead them into a trap.

Previously the robbers were known to have trapped their victims by luring them into supposedly lucrative deals. This new revelation implies that the robbers could have used various tricks.

The friends also disclosed that the gang’s network was big and the suspects still at large were more than those who were arrested. The Police arrested 15 suspects associated with Kazahura. Some of them issued death threats to whistle blowers who fed the Police with information.

Kanyankole, who is thought to have coordinated the robberies on Kazahuura behalf, is said to have developed mental problems during the weeks prior to his arrest. According to friends, Kanyankole once showed up with scratches all over the neck and when he was asked what had happened, he said that he had fought with his wife Irene. But Irene later told the friends that he had returned home with a blood-stained shirt and scratches. He didn’t explain to his wife what had happened.

Yet that was the day his friend Mubarak disappeared and it is believed that he fought with him before killing him and taking his vehicle a Toyota Mark II. Kanyankole appeared later driving Mubaraka’s Mark II but with changed number plates.

Thereafter his behavior became increasingly weird, often turning violent and punching his friends for unclear reasons. He behaved like he was possessed by demons, a friend said.

He would sometimes drive on the wrong side of the road and when stopped by traffic police he would speed off past them. Often Kanyankole got arrested and Kazahura used his influence with security organizations to release him.

Kanyankole, born in Kabale District and was a resident of Pida village on Entebbe road. He lived a luxurious life and reportedly changed cars like clothes. But what puzzled his friends was that the cars which he always changed were new but carrying old number plates. Sometimes the number plates were Congolese.

Though many knew him as a real estate dealer, he had told his colleagues that he was a security officer and an aide of an army general. He was often in and out of prison for various offences.

Even before his arrest, some people had worked out that when he calls you for a lucrative deal you disappear, so they dodged his trap or moved with friends. He was usually busy at night and slept a lot during the day.

The other deadly robber suspect who the trio knew very well is Bob Ssempijja who was shot and wounded in 2010 as he attempted to escape arrest.

Before Kazahuura was arrested, he had been working on William Street where he owned no particular business. He was always brokering deals. Previously, he had spent some years in Luzira Prison over a robbery that took place in Mabira Forest. It is alleged that in the robbery they waylaid and robbed a truck full of sugar.
