Oloya Steven takes over as new CAO-Yumbe

Asaba Innocent Birekeyaho who served as a Chief Administrative Officer in Yumbe District Local Government since 2020 officially handed over office to Oloya Steven now the new CAO for Yumbe District.

This took place during a special handover ceremony held at the district headquarters on 24th January 2023 as attended by high profile district leaders especially, the District Chairman LC V, Deputy Resident District Commissioner and the team of technical staff among others.

While handing over to his successor Oloya Steven who has been holding the same docket in Agago District, Asaba in his speech presented a handover report which unveiled huge success Yumbe District Local Government attained during his tenure as a CAO in the district.

Among the key achievements highlighted are, increased funding from the central government as a result of improved district performance in the local government assessment and enhanced staffing level which he said has greatly improved service delivery.

On the same note, Asiku Abdul Mutalib the District Chairperson Yumbe District Local Government in his remarks hailed the outgoing CAO for his good performance and urged him to maintain the spirit of good workmanship.

“Many Chief Administrative Officers allegedly involved in misuse of public funds have been arrested, I think Mr. Asaba is not corrupt, maybe I don’t know, but I believe like others he would have been arrested by either State House anti corruption unit or IGG if he was corrupt”. The District Chairperson Yumbe District Local Government expressed.

On the other hand, Oloya Steven the new Chief Administrative Officer promised to continue building on the legacy of those who served before him regarding the delivery of public services in order to improve lives and livelihoods of the people in Yumbe District.

Upon appreciating Asaba who shall be the new CAO for Luwero District, the District Chairman made it no secret as he humbly called upon Oloya Steven the new Chief Administrative Officer to work closely with all stakeholders in the district so that success can be easily achieved in implementing development programs and projects.
