Fans of Uganda football have told FUFA President Moses Magogo to forget his dream of taking Uganda to the world cup.

According to a Facebooks post by the Daily Monitor newspaper, Magogo said that his dream is to take Uganda to the world’s biggest soccer tournament the world cup.

On reading this post, Uganda cranes fans poured their comments and said Magogo should forget about this dream because it cannot happen as long as he is Ugandans football president

One of the comments by Stephens Herrera caught the attention of many Facebook followers as he advised Magogo to dream what he can afford to do because it’s not wishes and words that take teams to tournaments but rather actions such as government policy towards sports and investing in sports facilities

“How can he take Cranes to the world cup yet his team struggles to quality for continental tournaments like AFCON and CHAN,” he said,

Agaba Ezra Uganda said Magogo is not a serious football leader because he has become more of a politician, celebrity and socialite.

“Perhaps he should stay in politics and showbiz because his chances of achieving this dream are over,” he said.

Uganda failed to quality for AFCON and also failed to go past group stage in CHAN 2023 that took place in Algeria. They never made it to second round despite beating Senegal 1-0 in the group stage of the campaign.

Note: In 2019 Moses Magogo was suspended for two months by world governing body Fifa.

The suspension for Magogo came after he was implicated over the illegal resale of 2014 Fifa World Cup tickets. The Fifa Ethics committee revealed investigations into Magogo’s acts were opened on July 23 2018.

“The chairman of the adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee ratified the plea bargain entered into by Moses Hassim] Magogo, President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations and member of the Confederation of African Football Executive Committee, and the chairperson of the investigatory chamber,” Fifa’s document seen by press read in part.
