Makerere Full Gospel Church’s Pastor Daniel Birungi knocks his son to death

Pastor Daniel Birungi of Makerere Full Gospel Church has lost a boy child. Pastor Birungi who is also a Manager, M&E and Data Center Services at MTN Uganda, told mourners that he personally knocked to death his son.

Pastor Birungi painfully narrated and reconstructed the scene of his son’s death, to somber and shocked mourners, who gathered in the church to full capacity despite the COVID-19 fear.

According to Pastor Birungi, his son Musiime, who was 1 year and 8 months, died of a brunt impact caused by the result of car knock.  Late Musiime reportedly followed his dad, yet his father; Pastor Birungi thought he was still in bed sleeping.

Pastor Birungi said he had driven for a kilometre and that was when his wife called to inform him that he had knocked his son. Late Musiime was rushed to a nearby clinic, but the nurses realized the boy was dead, but could not tell them. The nurses referred them to a hospital. They rushed Musiime to Norvik Hospital on Bombo Road, where he was pronounced dead.

Mrs Birungi gave mourners courage; she was very strong; she thanked God for blessing them with Musiime for 1 year and 8 months. Mourners also thanked God for blessing Mrs Birungi with strength; no single drop of tear lingered on her face. Surprisingly, Pastor Birungi who is also an engineer, broke down. However, it was understandable; the feeling of causing death to his beloved son touched him!

Pastor Fred Watante gave mourners holy food. He told them that mourning is provided for in the Bible. In Ecclesiastes 3 says there is time for everything ECCLESIASTES 3;4  A time to weep, and to heal; a time to break and a time to build. Pastor Watante said that God allowed Israelites to mourn for Moses the whole month.  Pastor Watante also told mourners that God always has better plans to turn what looks bad to look good at the end of it all. He emphasized that God cannot let bad things finish off his children.

Burial will take place tomorrow in Kyenjojo, where the ancentral home of Pastor Daniel Birungi is.
