By Drone Staff

The heir of Buganda, Prince Richard Ssemakookiro is out for the second time but this time he has come to reign.  According to close sources, and the photos on public display, Ssemakookiro is old enough to reign.

It should be remembered that the dispute over Prince Semakookiro’s parentage led to a debate on the morality of the king and the place of royal traditions in the digital era.

Ssemakookiro makes a kingly stride

For decades, clouds of uncertainty swirled above the Kabaka’s Palace on Mengo Hill, Kampala. The monarch was always disturbed by a looming power vacuum because none of the princes qualify to take a place in the throne long after Kabaka is gone. Now the palace is no longer heavy with anxiety.

In 2012 the Buganda Kingdom disputed the authenticity of the photographs that were published in the state-owned The New Vision, and its sister publication vernacular daily – Bukedde purporting to be the mother of Kabaka’s new son, Prince Richard Ssemakookiro.

David Mpanga, the Buganda Deputy Attorney General, while disputing the authenticity said Kabaka Ronald Mutebi, would however, not comment on the matter. It took the whole editorial team of New Vision plus sh20m to go to Mengo to apologize.  The question was, why apologizing for what? Time has come, truth is displayed, Ssemakookiro is out for public consumption, but the mother is no where!

However, the mystery was overcome by investigations by journalists who looked for the mother for Ssemakookiro.  The mother of Prince Richard Ssemakookiro who was born to Kabaka Ronald Mutebi in  July, 2012 and unveiled a week after to the public was eventually named.

Investigations revealed that she is known as Rose Nansikombi, who was 24 at the time she gave birtnh. She is a daughter of Ssalongo George Edward Sserebe and Nnaalongo Christine Nalubanjwa, of Nswanta village, Bamunanika county in Luweero district.
