Vice President arrives at Nakaloke

The Vice President of the Republic of Uganda Maj.(Rtd) Jessica Alupo this afternoon arrived at Nakaloke Playground in Mbale city to join mourners for the final send off of the Late Ambassador Dr.Hassan Galiwango.

Dr Galiwango who until his demise was Uganda’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya & Seychelles passed on yesterday in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.

The NRM Secretariat Top leadership led by the Rt. Hon. Secretary General, Richard Todwong are in attendance for the final send of the late Ambassador who also served as the Party’s Director of Finance and Administration for 11 years.

Ambassador Dr. Hassan Wasswa Galiwango served as the NRM Director of Finance and Administration for 11 years between 2009 and 2020. He will be laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Jami in Budaka District.

Until his demise Dr Galiwango was Uganda’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya and Seychelles and he died yesterday in Kenya’s Capital City Nairobi where he was appointed in 2020.

The ruling National Resistance Movement Secretariat Top leadership led by the Secretary General, Hon Richard Todwong attended the final send off of the late Ambassador Galiwango who also served as the Party’s Director of Finance and Administration for 11 years.

The late Dr Galiwango was later laid to rest according to the Islamic tradition at his ancestral home in Jami village in Budaka District.

Dr Galiwango was appointed to the position in June 2021. He has been serving as ambassador to Seychelles as well as Uganda’s permanent representative to the United Nations Environment Program and UN-HABITAT. He also initially served as a director at the NRM secretariat.
