SUSPECT COLLAPSES AND DIES DURING INTERROGATION

Five people among them three police officers are being investigated in connection with the death of Farina Mukwanga, a businesswoman.

Mukwanga collapsed and died on the spot while being grilled at a police station in Buwenge district. According to sources, Buwenge district Police commander, identified as Assistant Superintendent of Police, Henry Mugarura, is recording the statement of the officers that interviewed the deceased.

Details of the five suspects have been concealed in fear of jeopardizing the going on investigations.
“He (Mugarura) tasked them to explain what prompted Mukwanga to collapse and if anybody touched her as she narrated her ordeal to the investigating officer at the station,” said a detective. A death inquiry file referenced 03/21 has been opened as they (police) wait for postmortem results.
