NCHE calls Kayiwa University degrees fake

Pastor Aloysious  Bugingo and many others have today graduated with degrees the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) calls fake.

According to a press release from NCHE dated 10th June 2022, the graduation was illegal. The release carries this heading: “Illegal Graduation by Kayiwa International University.”

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE)has learnt of an illegal graduationheld by Kayiwa International University(KINTU)today.

In the release it was explained that KINTU was licensed by NCHE on 28th September 2015and gazzetted in April 2016 under License No. UI.PL027. However, in 2018 NCHE issued an intention to revoke it, but gave  them six months to work on their area of weakness.

In May 2019, a reminder was sent to KINTU to submit their defense in line with the intention to revoke. On 23rd August 2019 during the 52nd sitting of Council revoked the license and this was gazzetted in March 2020, published in the media and KINTU was informed.

A letter informing the university on the closure was sent on 24th March 2020, an email on the same was sent and the same letter was sent by Post Office.

Since then KINTU ceased to be recognised by NCHE as a university in Uganda, any academic function carried out in the name of KINTU as a provisional licenseuniversity is illegitimate.

We want to informthe general public that the awards arising from from today’s graduation by the defunct KINTU are not recognized by the NCHE and should not be used for employment or further studies in Uganda and anywhere in the world.

It has since dawned on Pastor Aloysious Bugingo, who was among today’s graduands. Bugingo was previously rubbishing people, boasting that he is a graduate. Sources say Bugingo was one of the causers of revoking of the license because he was not qualifying. That was one the areas of weakness NCHE had pin pointed.
