TYCOON KARIM HIRJI AND STEP CHILDREN FIGHT

According to a report filed by Linda Birungi, Anita Birungi and Ronnie Birungi (The 3 daughters of the late Ziba Nanyonga Hirji ) against the administrators of her estate, the children contest the Will allegedly signed by their late mother in 2004.

The children state that the Will was allegedly signed a month before her death and used to obtain probate and later dispose off all her properties in the United Kingdom (UK) in the week leading to her death and several other properties in Uganda.

They further reveal that Tycoon Karim Abdul Hamid Muhamad Hirji used the properties to his personal use and benefit denying and excluding the three (3) children, who were beneficiaries.

At the time of her death, late Ziba Nanyonga Hirji had six biological children, the three she got with their step farther and other three she had got before she met Tycoon Karim Abdul Hamid Muhamad Hirji.

Important to note is that, before her second marriage where she acquired the name of Ziba Nanyonga Hirji she was married to the father of the first three children and known as Barbara Nanyonga Mukasa Birungi.

Ziba Nanyonga Hirji reportedly died at Cromwell Hospital in London, February 8th, 2004. The children contend that the events prior to her death and the actions of the Solicitors involved in representing Tycoon Karim Hirji, are fraudulent.

There are three Wills, but the genuine one is hand-written.  The two Wills, according to the children and backed by evidence are forged; fraudulently prepared.

A week before Ziba Nanyonga Hirji died, according to the children’s report, Tycoon Karim Hirji  through his agents gained access to her safe and took all her documents including titles and other important documents stored in NK Pharmacy at Hotel Equatorial Building.

However, the property on Mawanda Road is registered in Linda Birungi names, but Tycoon Karim Hirjji continues to claim it.  Just like all other properties forming late Ziba Nanyonga Hirji’s estate, Tycoon Karim Hirji continue to benefit all the rental income to his sole benefit for the last seventeen years.

It is surprising how late Ziba Nanyonga Hirji, who was reportedly in intermittent coma at Cromwell Hospital and under heavy medication of morphine and during all that period it was evident that she lacked testamentary capacity, could sign the Will!

Besides, all her sisters and some of her children were with her at her death bed. Where and how did she instruct Evans Dodd to write her Will?

As it is, this report has caused trouble in this country. Authorities have been compromised; right from parliament to judiciary, justice has been denied. God will prevail.
