UPDF elects new representatives in the parliament, Gen Tumwine and Gen Koreta are out

The Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) yesterday elected new representatives in the parliament of Uganda, and two incumbent Army Generals Elly Tumwine and Ivan Koreta were thrown out.

The Drone Media brings to the attention of public these female UPDF representatives:
Lt Col Charity Bainababo, is the commandant of the presidential police guard. Col Dr. Victoria Nekesa is a pathologist at State House. Major Dr. Jennifer Alanyo, is a healthcare practitioner, specializing as a General Practitioner, (GP), in Kampala, Central Uganda.
Unlike female UPDF representatives, the male UPDF representatives are very common among Ugandans. However, some like Maj. Gen. Sam Kavuma and Lt. Gen. Mbasu Mbadi, and Lt. Gen. Peter Elweru will come out due to some highlights.
Major General Samuel Kavuma serves as the Chairman of Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperatives Society, a savings and credit cooperative belonging to the members of the Ugandan military.
He currently serves as the Deputy Commander of Land Forces in the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), effective 1 December 2017, being the first person in that newly-created position. Immediately prior to his current position, he served as the deputy commander of the UPDF Air Force. Before that, Kavuma served as the Commander of the UPDF Contingent in Somalia, as part of the African Union Mission to Somalia  (AMISOM). He was appointed to that position in October 2014. He replaced Brigadier Dick Olum, who served in that position from September 2013 until October 2014. 
n 2011, at the rank of Colonel, Sam Kavuma was the Commanding Officer of the UPDF 5th Division, based in Pader, Nothern Uganda. On 18 September 2011, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier. In July 2013, having recently graduated from the National Defence College, Kenya.
Brigadier Kavuma was appointed as “Commander of the Regional Taskforce against theLRA in South Sudan and Central Africa Republic (CAR)”, replacing Brigadier Dick Olum. In October 2014, Yoweri Museveni, the Commander in Chief of the UPDF, appointed Brigadier Sam Kavuma, as overall Commander of the UPDF contingent to AMISOM.  
Lieutenant General Wilson Mbasu Mbadi is a senior military officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). He currently serves as the Deputy Chief of the Defense Forces and Inspector General of the UPDF. He was appointed to that position in January 2017, replacing Lieutenant General Charles Angina, who became Deputy Commander of Operation Wealth Creation. Immediately prior to his current position, from May 2013 until January 2017, he served as the Joint Chief of Staff of the UPDF, where he was replaced by Major General Joseph Musanyufu. 
Peter Elwelu is a Lieutenant General in the Uganda military, known formally as the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). Since 9 January 2017, he has served as the commander of land forces, which is the fourth-highest position in the UPDF hierarchy. Prior to that, from June 2013 until January 2017, he was the commander of the UPDF 2nd division, based in Mbarara, the largest town in Uganda’s Western Region.
