The Social Media is awash with photos of two students of same gender who appeared at a Vienna school Prom as a couple, portraying a gay gesture.

In a photo one student is dressed as a man yet she is female while her partner is dressed as a girl on a date. Surprisigly, one of the girls does ‘okwetega,” a recent slang introduced into Ugandan lingo that means setting a bait. She peels her long dress off the knee to show off the thigh power!

All in all, the photos have set whatsApp groups and whole social media fraternity on fire. The discussions are: “Are they……..or ….”

Get to know prom

Prom is a rite of passage for high school students in the United States. It’s an opportunity for them to dress up, dance, and celebrate with their classmates. Most proms include a dinner and a band or DJ. Some schools also have theme nights or contests.

Students are expected to dress formally. They are allowed to go with dates or friends. After the dinner, the dance continues through the night into the next day. In Colombia, many private schools usually have prom balls as well, usually consisting of a dinner, dancing, live music, and contests.

For the senior class, prom night serves as a symbol of four years of learning, friendship, and school spirit, and it’s frequently the last time the entire class is all together before graduation. Prom, along with graduation, marks the conclusion of high school and the beginning of adulthood for students.

Post-prom parties are events that happen after the formal dance ends. They often take place off school grounds. The party can be anything from a small, intimate gathering to a music-blasting dance party in the backyard. They keep the special spark of prom going just a bit longer.
