Where does Ntake get his wheat flour?

There are stories in Kampala about rich gangs repackaging inferior goods, which they present to gullible Ugandans as quality goods.

This shocking revelation has been narrated by one of the sources of The Drone Media, who says that he saw a sack branded wheat flour, “Produce of Uganda,”  Then, he remembered seeing bags branded Ntake, which were being filled with wheat flour at Mombasa some time back. Mbu that wheat was from Russia.

Surprisingly, these people come up with outrageous slogans like, ” Food basket of East Africa,” yet they import cheap food from far east.

Wheat flour is made from grinding up parts of the wheat grain. There are three main parts of the grain: The endosperm, or protein/starchy part. Germ, the rich in protein/fat/vitamin part. But what crop does wheat flour come from?

white flour is made from whole wheat grains. A whole grain of wheat has three layers. The bran is where you’ll find most of the fiber. The germ is the nutrient dense embryo that will sprout into a new wheat plant.

Wheat products are some of the most consumed in Uganda yet among farmers, it is one of the less cultivated crops. Its growing profile must be a question of the day and serious investors would be considering it highly. Wheat production in Uganda was at 20,000 tonnes in 2018, down from 24,000 tonnes in a previous year. Today, it is still lowly grown in Uganda, but the consumption of its products is so high.
