A bed of a Ugandan musician

It may sound or seem to be a joke but this is a bed of a Ugandan musician. It is totally disorganised. It was last cleaned when a responsible one night stand daughter of Even slept there.

The following morning after she realised that she came along with the musician from a music show; she decided to offer her service and cleaned it. Since then the pillow, the mattress cover and other items have been wanting, interms of cleaning.

These musicians make money, but they lack vision. Besides, they are reckless. If you observe carefully the room has many classy items, but are not cleaned.  There is even foreign money, which the locals here in Uganda call “Senteenzungu.”  This gives you a picture of life of a Ugandan musician.

He wakes up at about 1pm or 2pm, only brushes his teeth and no bathing. He then sits on a high stool that is opposite a gingantic sound machine, probably for rehearsals or vocal training. He will make thunderous noise in the name of vocal training. This will go on for about two consecutive hours and thereafter he calls “food drivers” (these are women/girls who pedal cooked food on behalf of Nnalongo or Mama Nankya) in the area. They serve him respectfully because they know he is a celeb and they believe they are lucky to freely interact with a native celebrity.

Once this musician is done with food, he will jump on a boda boda to go and interact with other musicians at a popular music studio or hang out. Remember he left his bed as he pleased.  He will stay out till wee hours when he returns inebriated, not knowing good or bad. This is a kind of lifestyle a Ugandan musician holds for years. If you meet them out, you even pay to see them. Surprisingly, they are not what you think they are! Look at their beddings!
