Amanya Tumukunde is set to wed Dr. Angela Kakishozi.
Hostilities between Gen. Henry Tumukunde and President Yoweri Museveni ought to end. Gen. Tumukunde’s son is set to be introduced to President Museveni’s family. Amanya Tumukunde is set to wed Angela Kakishozi.
According to news streaming on the news desk, the former Presidential candidate’s family has confirmed that the general’s son Amanya Tumukunde is set to wed President Museveni’s younger daughter Dr. Angela Kakishozi.
Her mother is Enid Kukunda of Rukungiri.
Amanya Tumukunde was last year arrested and detained by security at the height of 2021 elections in which his father, a bush war hero, Gen. Tumukunde was candidate.
An unnamed family source interviewed by the press said:
“There is nothing new about our son (Amanya) dating Angela because they have known each other for ages. The only thing is that maybe it is now becoming a public matter, but there is nothing to hide”.
The two reportedly met in Malaysia where Ms. Kakishozi, who studied and was a top student at Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga read for Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery in a Malaysia University.
President Museveni’s other daughters include Ms. Diana Museveni (married to Mr Geoffrey Kamuntu), Ms. Natasha Museveni (married to Mr Edwin Karugire) and Ms. Patience Museveni (married to Mr Odrek Rwabwogo).
“It’s true that the two are getting married. Our son Amanya and his fiancee have been close since their childhood years and this later evolved into an intimate relationship. Both families are aware of this relationship.
There is basically nothing new about our son dating Angela because they have known each other for ages. The only thing is that maybe it is now becoming a public matter, but there is nothing to hide.” A close family source revealed.
Dr Angela Kakishozi was fathered by President Museveni from a woman known as Enid Kokunda from Rukungiri.
The wedding is poised to take place despite the flaring tensions between the two family heads, especially in the past presidential election where they locked horns.
Dr Angela possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the Monash University in Malaysia.
