I am still serving NRM Government-Amama Mbabazi

Former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has said that despite not being appointed in the new cabinet by President Yoweri Museveni as had been speculated, he is still serving the NRM Government behind the scenes.
Mbabazi said this week that while many people had anticipated that he would make the 2021-26 cabinet list, his absence doesn’t mean that he is back on bad terms with the president.
On the contrary, he said, he remains a staunch member of the ruling NRM party, and that he is still serving government in different capacities.

“The other day someone called me saying that when the cabinet was released, he waited for my name and couldn’t find it. Well, I am a member of the NRM; I am one of the NRM founders that is what matters. Don’t you see that I am in government? I couldn’t leave the NRM; that is like a father abandoning his family, ” Mbabazi said, while seeing of his sister-in law Joy Ntegyereize Zatwoshaho at Mwanjari, Kabale Municipality.
On the contrary, he saidhe remains a staunch member of the ruling NRM party, and that he is still serving government in different capacities.

I am NRM. Those who thought that because I contested against our chairman that I left the party are wrong because they do not know what they are talking about. I was among those who started NRM, so why should I leave it, I cannot,” Mr Amama Mbabazi.
