Joseph Kabuleta whisked away in a Drone

Former New Vision journalist who is also leader of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) and former Presidential Candidate, Joseph Kabuleta, was reportedly arrested early today and whisked away to an unknown destination.

The incident, according to eye witnesses, took place at the party head offices in Bugolobi in Kampala, shortly after conducting his weekly press conference.
According to information available Kabuleta was whisked off in a black Toyota Hiace minivan popularly known as a “Drone.”

The destination and reason for the arrest has not been established. However, uncorfirmed reports The Drone Media got reveal that security agencies have on a number of occasions been angered by Kabuleta’s utterances against vaccination of children against coronavirus.

It should be remembered that armed security personnel in June this year dressed in civilian clothes raided Kabuleta’s offices and briefly detained his colleagues but didn’t find him.
Kabuleta has been critical about a number of issues including; vaccination of children in schools against Covid-19 and other diseases.

He claims the vaccines have adverse effects on human beings and also cause death to some people, allegations that both the government and World Health Organisation refute.

Police have before interrogated Kabuleta’s pastor Elvis Mbonye on allegations of promoting an anti-immunisation campaign against Measles and Rubella on his social media platform.

In 2019 Kabuleta was arrested by strangers from a restaurant at Forest Mall, Lugogo and later police confirmed they were the ones who had arrested Kabuleta from a restaurant at Forest Mall,  Lugogo in Kampala.

Kabuleta was picked up from Drew & Jacs Patisserie, a restaurant, coffee shop and bar located at Forest Mall Lugogo and he was detained at the Special Investigations Directorate in Kireka.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said, “This is to inform the public that a team of detectives from the Special Investigations Division has today (Friday) arrested Joseph Kabuleta, a self-styled pastor, and put him under custody. He has been apprehended because of offensive communication against the person of the President.”

Enanga said that according to preliminary information, the writer repeatedly posted grossly offensive messages, under “Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rant Returns,” referring to the Fountain of Honor as “a Gambler, Thief and Liar”. Section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act, 2011, criminalizes such acts of communication.
