Kanungu fm station manager survives Jail

By Drone writer

The Kanungu fm station manager that assaulted a female employee has survived being imprisoned for 8 months.

This is after he was convicted and fined shs.200, 000 for committing the crime in a court ruling that happened on Wednesday, 8th, February, 2023.

In his ruling, the Kanungu grade one magistrate Asanansio Mukobi ordered Nelson Kagote Twinamatsiko to either pay ug.shs.200, 000 fine or go to prison for 8 months but Mr. Twinamasiko agreed to pay the fine.

He committed the crime on 26th, February, 2023 at the station offices in kanungu Town after he refused to pay a commission of shs.40, 000 to a fellow employee Anita Tumuramye, who had brought an advert of a school worth shs.200, 000.

The judge also told them to reconcile since they are all workers of a radio station owned by Dr.Chris Baryomunsi, the state Minister for information and National guidance.

Recently, the station management said that the manager never committed any crime because it’s Tumuramye, who attacked him as he was leaving the studio after hosting a two hour talk show.

The station management of Kanungu also revealed that Tumuramye was the one that instead beat up his boss for failing to give her the commission of the school advert.

When the manager refused to give her the money, she waited for him when he was coming out of the talk show and confronted him by grabbing his collar and injuring him in the face, hence resulting into bleeding as seen in the recorded video.

“A careful examination of the video shows the manager trying to extricate himself from the lady. In the video there is no indication of beating,” the statement further reads.

Mr. Twinamasiko immediately reported the matter at Kanungu police station while Ms Tumuramye opted to report at the same police station the following day.
