Late Maj. Gen. Lokech’s ADC and Personal Assistant ordered to hand over

By Drone Reporter

Reports The Drone Media is getting indicate that the late Maj Gen Lokech’s ADC, Personal Assistant and staff have been told to hand over or face arrest, they have been summoned at Uganda Police Force headquarters. Order from the IGP JM Okoth Ochola via Benson Ongom.

Meanwhile the  Chief Justice Owiny Dollo Chigamoi said,  “I personally don’t give fodder to or entertain rumour; and least when it is on a matter as tragic as the death of a human being. What Gen. Lokech himself told me about three weeks ago, and this was reiterated by his wife today at their family home where I was for the greater part of the day, is that he fell from a plastic chair he had climbed and stood on from his home trying to reach and remove something.

It was established that he had cracked a bone on his right ankle; so he was put on PoP. Today morning, he himself called his doctor for an appointment to have the PoP removed because it was causing him some pain and inconvenience.

It was from the bathroom while seated on a chair he had been using for his bath that his breath and energy deteriorated. His wife called Dr. Ben Kiingi who came and tried to save the Gen’s life but this was unsuccessful. The Gen’s corpse has been taken to Mulago Hospital (City mortuary) for post mortem examination to establish the source of death.

The results are not out yet. This talk about blood clot is all circumstantial diagnosis on possible or even probable cause of death based on how he suddenly lost breath resulting in the loss of his life. Nothing concrete as yet on the cause of death.

My plea to all of us is to mourn Gen. Paul Lokech, whose demise is a tragedy of enormous proportion and is unfathomable, with dignity and responsibly. We should desist from hyping all sorts of rumour based on wild imagination.

For instance, I read a post attributing the ailment afflicting the Rt. Hon. Speaker to poisoning. I’m very close to Hon Jacob Oulanyah. In fact I visited him in Dubai where he was receiving treatment; and for this, I had to obtain a special dispensation from the government of UAE since Uganda is on their red list owing to Covid-19.

This was when social media was awash with strange stories of how he had been rejected from UK etc. etc. I can say with certitude that the Hon Speaker is not a victim of any poisoning. I therefore fail to see what gain there is is peddling unverified utterances about someone’s condition.

At least let’s keep this away from the manner we grieve Gen Lokech’s passing in. This would be the best way to honour his memory. May the Good Lord rest his soul in Eternal Peace.
