Voters in Lubaga South constituency are over the moon after getting news that Mr Aloysious Mukasa a local People Power promoter and a steady business young man has decided to challenge the embattled Kato Lubwama come 2021.
Kato Lubwama who is awaiting constitutional court judgment over a case where he was sued for lack of O’ level papers is accused by section of the voters for neglecting them and chase personal interests.
His known slogan of “ I came to eat too” has annoyed most of his voters who see him as a self centered MP in a constituency faced with so many problems ranging from poverty, diseases ,poor sanitation, un employment among others. During his recent tour to areas of Ndeeba, Wankulukuku and Mutundwe, Mr Mukasa the hopeful attacked members of parliament who don’t live to their promises. He said that although the work of an MP is to make laws and regulations, an MP ought to somehow help his voters over come phenomenal issues like poverty and sanitation through coordinating with relevant authority instead of being self centered. “Then you get an MP who publicly say he came to eat and shake off poverty. Those are not the MPS who we want in People Power. We want people who will help uplift others and I believe am one” said hopeful Mukasa to the chants of his audience in Mutundwe last week. Mean while the chief justice recently named a panel to handle Hon Kato Lubwama’s educational papers case which has been pending and judgment is coming like wind.
