Mr. Fix it Amama Mbabazi returns with pomp!

 

 

Former Premier who was also Secretary General of National Resistance Movement (NRM) Hon. Amama Mbabazi has officially returned to his party, which he had left.

“I am working with President Museveni,” Amama Mbabazi told the Local Council Councilors.

The former Super Minister further said, “I am NRM. Those who thought that because I contested against our chairman that I left NRM are wrong because they do not know what they are talking about. I was among those who started NRM, so why should I leave it, I cannot,” Hon. Amama Mbabazi asserted.

Amama said he has rejoined President Museveni and is returning to the mainstream National Resistance Movement (NRM) for an active role in the party’s affairs.

Mbabazi made the revelation while meeting 138 NRM councillors from all five divisions of Kampala: Nakawa, Kawempe, Rubaga, Makindye, and Kampala Central on Tuesday. They said they were 406 NRM councillors in Kampala.

Hon. Amama Mbabazi who had earned many nicknames among his peers and many Ugandans because of his style and approach to issues, has come at a time when he is needed.

Amama was once nicknamed Mr. Fix It; Super Minister and Mr. Going Forward. When he stood as a presidential candidate in 2016; many Ugandans thought he would fix it, but were disappointed by the least percentage he got at the end of elections.

Amama, who was representing President Museveni, said he has never left the NRM party despite his disagreements with the President that made him contest against him as an Independent candidate in 2016 General Election. He said he cannot abandon President Museveni despite the disagreements.

John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, served as the ninth Prime Minister of Uganda from 24 May 2011 to 19 September 2014. He is a senior Ugandan lawyer and politician.

Between 2004 and 2006, Hon Amama Mbabazi held two full Cabinet positions, when he served as Attorney General and, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
