NRM drops both Kadaga & Oulanyah for the post of speakership

Uganda’s ruling party the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has reportedly dropped Hon Rebecca Kadaga and Jacob Oulanyah, who intended to contest for the post of speakership.

The Drone Media has gathered that the bickering; fighting and all sorts of unnecessary arguments, resulting from the two contestants, who belong to NRM, were hurting the party. Therefore, senior members in the NRM have opted to drop both candidates so that sanity can return to the party.

It is clear that the campaigns for speakership had heated to high levels, resulting into divisions among party members. Therefore, NRM will forward another candidate, who will be chosen by all members and each and every MP who belong to the NRM will vote for the speaker chosen by the party.

On Monday, President Museveni met all parties who intend to contest for Speakership and Deputy Speakership, at state house in Entebbe.  According to the Drones at Entebbe; President Museveni stopped campaigns for the post of speakership and all the bickering.  He reportedly said, ” These unnecessary campaigns are hurting the party.”

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has suspended campaigns for both Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 11th Parliament.
