Police Spokesman, Fred Enanga has told journalists that the woman who claimed was raped, was actually not raped.
According to Enanga, CCTV camera shows the woman walking with a tall man in gumboots and an overcoat and two looked like they were in love. Enanga further said that the camera shows the two going somewhere and appear again in front of a camera before parting their ways.
However, before the two appeared together there were four men who appeared without firearms, but as soon as they disappeared, the woman and the tall man also appeared in front of the camera at the junction.
Meanwhile the five Police officers are under arrest over the shooting to death of Ali Ambayo, a private security guard at a prominent garage in Lugala, Rubaga division in Kampala, who the claimed had raped the woman.

The officers allegedly shot Ambayo, after failing to arrest him, for raping a woman who was on her way to work in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Preliminary Police findings indicated that the victim (names withheld) runs a food joint in Rubaga. She reported the case to the Police.

The officers attached to Lugala Police Post under Old Kampala Police Station reportedly failed to apprehend Ambayo prompting them to fire the bullets that ended his life.

They allegedly claimed he was killed by a ‘stray bullet’. Ambayo was a resident of Lugala, though his family lived in Kakiri, Wakiso district.

Today, CP Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson while addressing the media on the general security situation in the country, clarified on the matter.
Enanga said the Police Advisory Committee has recommended IP Cheptegei Joshua who broke four (4) World Records in long distance running competitions, for promotion to his next rank of ASP.
Enanga also said, the police warns against discrimination and stigmatization of pregnant school girls following the announcement by UNEB allowing them to register for their final exams.
