Prof. Elijah Dickens Mushemeza joins the standing committee of parliament of Uganda

Parliament has approved the leadership and membership of Standing and Sectoral Committees as proposed by the government, Opposition, Dean of Independents and UPDF.

Prof. Elijah Dickens Mushemeza has confirmed he is now a member of the Business Standing Committee and; Tourism, Trade and Industry Sector Committee.

The Business Committee is responsible to prepare and approve ALL BUSINESS that come to the house.

It is comprised of:

The Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, the Leader of Government Business(PM), the Government Chief Whip, the Chief Opposition Whip, Other Party Whips, Two Independent Members of Parliament, and; Chairpersons of Committees ( who shall be ex officio members with no right to vote).

Their work has already started begins: Sectoral committees among other functions; monitor the performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies; monitor Government compliance with approved plans and programmes.
