SEX SCANDALS AND DIRTY MONEY THREATEN UCC

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the body in charge of regulating the communications industry in Uganda, is destined to self-destruction due to in fighting that culminated into allegations of rape and murder threats.

According to a source at UCC, some members of staff have been receiving anonymous calls, threatening their lives while others have been allegedly framed. According to our sources, one of the victims was terminated over rape and sex scandals, but later compensated with loads of millions of shillings with no legal grounds.

This member of staff allegedly raped Edith Turyahikayo, the daughter of the Executive Director of Rural Electrification Agency. It is alleged that while the two were at Lake Victoria Serena Resort Hotel-Kigo; he reportedly forced himself into Edith hotel room and did what Adam and Eve did, but with no permission.

The Uganda Drone can exclusively reveal that after some members of staff learnt that the Executive Director, Godfrey Mutabazi, has loads of money at his disposal, devised means of sharing this money. The staff members, David Ogong and a one Kasozi; a driver, reportedly stole Mutabazi documents and later connived with a security operative to ask for a ransom of sh600m from the Executive Director.

Fortunately, they were discovered before Mutabazi was cornered, yet he was ready to cough sh600m, according to our sources. The two were reportedly suspended and internal investigation was launched to save the name of the commission.

According to a report obtained from the commission, on several occasions, the commission experienced cases of loss of documents through bypassing the Registry intentionally. This impacted a lot on transparency and accountability within the commission.

Besides, individuals call clients and request them to submit documents directly to them in their offices and even when the staff has already been transferred to different department or section. This means that money exchanges hands at personal level, but the source tells the Uganda Drone, how it originates from the top.
