Someone wants to kill me-Prof.Waswa Balunywa

When I was young I used to read the Perry Mason Book series (This is an American Drama Series).

They were very exciting books which depicted life in the USA crime and court room. In one of the books a sharp shooter was hired to kill another. He closed on him in a storied house. When the hunted learnt that the hunter was in the house, he went upstairs.

The sharp shooter who was the hardcore professional sat for 13 hours waiting for his victim to come downstairs and when he did, he was shot dead.

Guess what had been going on in the mind of the fellow who was shot dead and how about the killer himself.

The killer had been hired to do a job, he had no feelings in it. He got his money and walked away probably waiting for another job. For the fellow who was shot, it’s interesting to establish the object of why he was shot.

Did he double cross a person, was he a victim of human greed and envy, millions of reasons I guess.

When you read such books you enjoy them, they are very exciting. Reading the book, I was amazed at the patience of the killer. This excitement stops when the target is you.

My life has changed in the last 3 weeks, learning that somebody wants to take me out, shoot me dead. Reasons providing leadership in building a national institution that people are proud about and proud of.

When these stories we read in the books become a reality and you are a player, life takes a different turn.

In my earlier challenges in life, friends have warned me about what to eat and where, including avoiding hugging people. I recently read about how Bob Marely, the famous reggae artist was killed, a slow death that took several years.

People who are killed, are killed for a reason and I try to establish the reason why somebody wants me dead.

I figured out that my close association with and support from President Museveni could be one reason.

The other is the position that I occupy, this is a position I created as a result of working hard. It is not surprising that these positions could be wanted by other people but here is a violet death the price one has to pay?

What interest would one have in investing in death of an individual? When Kawesi was killed I read about it, I pitted him but wondered why he had died so.

The religion I profess requires one to think about death all the time but I don’t believe its violet death that one should think about. This thinking about death enables you to think about God and to not intentionally do harm to others.

Unfortunately death is not like any other thing where you have another opportunity. It is not like a missed bus or flight were you may have another opportunity, when you are dead you’re dead. Abiriga is gone (RIP).

I came to learn from one of my mentors that “faith begins where knowledge stops, when you don’t know why and who is hunting you, you live that to God to give the protection that you require for he alone knows your fate. Indeed “faith begins where knowledge stops”.
