State Drops Charges Against Bobi Wine in GULU


Under unexplained reasons Ugandan authorities have dropped the charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition against singer politician Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine.

Bobi was arrested after the presidential convoy was pelted with stones in the north-western town of Arua and charged before a court-martial in Gulu He was campaigning for an opposition candidate in a hard-fought by-election that also drew President Yoweri Museveni in support of the ruling party candidate.

A crowd that jeered Museveni’s convoy and broke his car window, the crowd was dispersed by police. Unfortunately, Bobi Wine’s driver was killed by a stray bullet. The MP  and others were arrested thereafter.

Now, Bobi Wine is set free from the court martial, butb re-arrested and taken to Magistrate Court in Gulu for other charges that include treason.

Police has in Kampala has arrested Kizza Besigye as he was trying to leave his home in Kisangati and take him to Naggalama police station.

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago,Kasibante and Allan Ssewanyana are on home arrest_

In the interest of justice, Bobi Wine has been allowed by the court in Gulu to access all the necessary treatment including access to his private doctor. The honorable has been remanded until 30th August, 2018 when the other accused will also appear in court.
