Uganda’s Artists Fighting For Political Cake/Money

Ever since Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine stepped into political arena the rest of Uganda’s artists have never settled.  They all felt Bobi Wine stole the show and are ever fighting to have a piece of the stolen show.
Well, The Drone Media has learnt that there are many wars being fought among Uganda’s artists.  One of the fighters is none other than Emperor Orlando, a veteran musician, whose contention roots from a proposal he wrote and presented to the minister responsible for Youth and Culture.
Emperor Olando says after his tiresome research and design of the Music Industry proposal, he was shocked to find out that the mandate was given to Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool, who knows nothing about the concepts proposed. This development has caused a sharp rift between Bebe Cool and Emperor Orlando.
Orlando believes Bebe Cool used his influence to manipulate the minister for his own interests. Yet this is detriment to the industry.
It is also well known that singer Jose Chameleone focuses on this political cake after he realized that Bobi Wine took a lion’s share in this political show. Chameleone tries to shake the ruling party so that he can get money. Other artists are not happy because last time he pocketed money to compose the party song known as ‘Tubonganawee’.’
The artists have since formed several groups, but the main one is now led by Sophie Gombya as the President and its patron ins Brig. Elly Kayanja of Wealth Creation. Others are led by Bebe Cool and have opened small music studios which charge sh10,000 to record a song. One studio is in Lungujja another one in Kiwatule.
This is making most artists unsettled and envy. However, a political analyst says this is a political strategy to disorganise the artists the more.
