By Drone Team

The Special Investigations Division in coordination with the Fraud Department at Stanbic Bank, Uganda, has in custody 9 suspects, including a New Vision Manager, who are scheduled to appear before the Anti-Corruption Division in Kololo, in connection with a series of computer system intrusions.

According to Fred Enanga, the intrusions gave them unauthorised access to a client’s account, where they made unauthorised transfers of funds, worth USD1.8M, into other bank accounts, established solely for the purpose of receiving the stolen funds.

At the direction of the Branch Managers, the funds were withdrawn and stolen, using forged documents of a Kenyan Passport number AK 0849025 and forged inter Account Transfer Forms, all in the names of Mohamed Abdul Hakim Hussein, one of the Company Directors and a signatory of the Account, of Nile Energy.

Dixion Akampumuza Kagurutsi

The Drone Media has learnt that one of the suspects is former New Vision Manager known as Dixion Akampumuza Kagurutsi. Kagurutsi was tagged to marketing /advertising department of The New Vision.

Former managers/editors at The New Vision described Dixion Kagurutsi as a fraud through and through! Mbu it is the reason The New Vision axed him after it was discussed  that he used to sign off millions for purpoted Teachers Conferences on Newspaper in Education project, but never held any! That he would reportedly claim for fake hotel fees and teachers allowances.

While 9 suspects have been apprehended , Dixion Akampumuza Kagurutsi remains on the run! Colleagues say Kgurutsi has been living large. “In fact, living larger than his life,” one of his former workmates says.

“This was a man who was working on commission but could not compute 10% of sh3m ! He contested against Former Premier Amama Mbabazi, but failed. He has contested twice and lost.  At The New Vision had a lot of influence over the EIC (Editor in Chief). So his inflated claims could not be scrutinized by anyone until he was caught pants down.
