Why Kahinda Otafiire & PM Nabanja locked horns

Minister Kahinda Otafiire evidently lost his cool in a cabinet meeting and went native against Prime Minister Robina Nabanja during the Monday Cabinet briefing.

A casual smiling Otafiire was reportedly triggered by Nabanja’s callous statement. The Kakumiro Woman MP, who is now Prime Minister had reportedly branded Otafiire a saboteur because he recently traveled to Kakumiro and presided over a public function without first notifying or seeking permission from her.

Now, this is where a show began from. The two egoistic bulls in the same kraal locked horns. First of all, the Rt. Hon Robina Nabanja, in the line of work, is the boss of Otafiire. Secondly, she was in the right forum, but this is Uganda. In this country, the historicals, those who claim they fought have continued to neglect principles of good governance. Kahinda Otafiire was supposed to apologize to his boss, who is also area Woman MP.

On the other side, Otafiire may be right because this was a social function not political. Otafiire loves socializing; he often attends public functions whenever he gets time, and he normally punctuate his speeches with jokes. His jokes are intriguing and people love the jokes.

So he was recently in Kakumiro where Prime Minister Robina Nabanja represents as Woman MP. The Drone Media can exclusively reveal that he had been invited by a doctor friend whose elderly mother was celebrating her 91st birthday. Otafiire was the Chief guest at the birthday celebrations.

This was not political, but it rubbed Nabanja hard when she got wind of it. She evidently felt sabotaged that the veteran politician from Mitooma District would preside over a function in her area of political jurisdiction without notifying her. She took it as sabotage aimed at propping up those seeking to undermine her reelection chances in 2026. She kept quiet but anger kept bottling up inside her until Monday in a cabinet briefing.
