New Vision’s Francis Kagoro saves a Kanyamunyu-like situation at Makerere-Kavule

Francis Kagoro, a news editor at the leading daily saved a situation that would have caused mass killing. The amiable says, “I have just saved the would-be Kanyamunyu-like situation at Makerere Kavule.”

According to Kagoro, this gentleman who called himself “Retired General” picked his AK-47 from the car after it was damaged opposite Total  Fuelling Station at Makerere-Kavule.  Then some people ran while others had started abusing the old man; accusing him of threatening their lives.

“When I talked to the gun-wielding Retired General, he explained to me that he’s a professional soldier who could not leave his gun unattended to, in the car. I convinced him to take the ‘little’ money he was offered to repair his car and he accepted to embark on his journey to Arua since it was getting late,” explains Kagoro.

Kagoro cautions the public:  “Don’t always play with people’s cars; you may never know who’s armed. Beside, humility costs nothing. Be humble, otherwise people will shoot you!”
