BOUNCERS INCLUDED AMONG COMEDIANS-HON PEACE MUTUUZO

The Uganda Comedians’ Association (TUCA)had a fruitful meeting with Minister Peace Mutuuzo and her team on Tuesday at National Theatre in regards to how the creative industry should be regulated.

The chairperson of the association, Hannington Bugingo said, “This is because we strongly don’t agree with the current proposals in the proposed drafted. We will present our written response to the minister and ministry through our legal adviser.”

As expected, this meeting had comic acts, some members were not formal and not at all organised, but the informed members like Abbey Mukiibi did guide them who carried “People Power” behaviour in that meeting.
what seemed to have annoyed some members was that bouncers the Kanyamas, according to the proposal Hon Peace Mutuuzo presented, were included among the comedians. The minister, however, explained that since the bouncers always guard comedy shows; they are also part of the group. Hon Mutuuzo said that bouncers needed to be recognised.

Hon Mutuuzo cited an example whereby an artiste, late Mowzey Radio died at the hands of a bouncer; meaning that if bouncers were regulated it should have been avoided.
