The detained former Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura’s health is not well at Makindye military barracks this site has reliably been been informed.

Kayihura and his blue eyed boys have been in detention at Makindye military barracks for close to two weeks on unspecified charges after he was airlifted by military chopper in Kashagama in Lyantonde district.

Our reliable sources based at Makindye military barracks where Kayihura is detained, revealed to us that over the weekend, Kayihura’s health changed and started vomiting and almost collapsed in his room.

“Gen Kayihura on Saturday night vomited and his body started swelling while he was in his room,” said a source adding that Gen asked to be taken to Case Clinic where he used to get his local treatment.

The source added that Kayihura also failed to eat the food claiming that he was not in good conditions.

The source added that officers who guard him at Makindye called their bosses and informed them about his requests to be taken for medical checkup.

It is however revealed that authorities declined Kayihura to be taken outside for treatment saying he must be treated at Makindye.

“If Gen Kayihura is sick, we shall call trained doctors from Bombo hospital to come and attend to him at Makindye barracks, we shall not allow him move out,” a source quoted one of the UPDF Generals saying.

Military says UPDF has the best trained doctors in Uganda.

However our source added that by Monday Kayihura was still adamant to be treated by UPDF doctors.

“Kayihura has not made a final decision on whether he should be treated by UPDF doctors,” said a source.

However when we interviewed UPDF Spokesperson Brig.Richard Karemire on Wednesday, he denied allegations that Gen Kayihura was sick.

“There is no such information that Gen Kale Kayihura is sick at Makindye military barracks,” said Brig Karemire adding that even if he falls sick he will be treated because it is his right to be treated.
