Gumisiriza was hired to fumigate money in Kampala. Although the cost to fumigate tends to be around sh40, 000- 80,000, depending on your situation, he was surprised.

I was paid sh300,000, that means three times (x3) my daily charge when I was hired to fumigate money within Kampala.  Samuel Gumisiriza, a Kyebando-based fumigator tells The Drone Media that one day as he sat at Constitutional Square, two gentlemen approached him.  “They were friendly,” says Gumisiriza.  They joined him where he had sat and after they exchanged greetings; the duo cracked incessant jokes, soon Gumisiriza was engulfed in the euphoria of a free comedy show.

Little did Gumisiriza realize that the tricky strangers were up for something.  After about 30 minutes, one of the two gentlemen inquired about the cost of fumigation. Gumisiriza replied him that he charged sh40,00-80,000 depending on the situation.  The second gentleman chipped in, ” We are hiring you for about six hours at sh100,000.”  Kashoma said he agreed and was told to come to Jennifer Musisi’s Arena, opposite Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC/Watoto) early the following morning.

Gumisiriza was there as agreed.  At about 7:15 am a Lemon Green V8 Land cruiser  screeched to a halt and the occupants signaled him to it. Gumisiriza was shocked after he entered into the car; he was told that they were going to blind fold him. However, Gumisiriza says they were still friendly with full of humour so he did not fear so much though he wondered.

After Gumisiriza was blindfolded, he could not locate where he was neither tell which direction they headed. For about an hour; they reached. When they removed the blindfold; he saw loads of paper money (notes of money) laid on vast canvases. He could not hide his awe; he became agape and that is when he was told, ” we shall pay you times three of what we agreed, thus do fumigate.”

Gumisiriza says he fumigated the money for 4 hours and finished. He was paid up and then blindfolded and brought him back to KPC.
