Kayihura to be prosecuted on other charges but not Kawesi’s murder

A State House source has confirmed that General Kale Kayihura will be prosecuted, the charge of organising and conspiracy to commit Murder of AIGP Kaweesi will be halted but he will be charged with other cases that include:

Conspiracy to kidnap individuals of Rwandese origin, commissioning illegal repatriation of refugees, issuance of guns against set out procedures, commissioning of crime and protection of criminals.

General Museveni is also seeking the services of Scotland Yard to carry out an independent investigation into Kaweesi’s murder after a new report indicates that the murder was known to General Kayihura although linking the actual murderers to Kayihura is still impossible.

Therefore prosecuting him is still tricky. The actual killers are already in detention and were in detention even at the time Abiriga was murdered yet the MP was murdered the same way, this opened up debate that the killing group is big and headed by people around power.

General Museveni wondered why since the arrest of Kayihura and his group organized crime went down by 90%, does this mean the same group was behind organized crime? Should they be released now?

More details on this new report will be released shortly.

However, this is disturbing. The public is vexed; it is worrying how security can fail to investigate a case that is open to the public.

For instance, if there are people  who were involved in this murder and they are willing to talk, what is the problem?

Besides, the two witnesses who saw the goons showering bullets the car which late Kawesi occupied, told the story; why hide the truth?

This case, like many more cases, which lose track might be traced to angels of this Banana Republic. The Uganda Police Force is capable of investigating this case to the core. This business of bringing Scot Yard is a way of diverting public anger.
