The widow of the late chief prince Alexander Ssimbwa of Buganda, has asked the President of the Republic of Uganda, Y. K Museveni, the lands minister Hon. Beti Kamya and the Head of State House Anti –Corruption Unit;  Lt Col Edith Nakalema, to rescue her land from being fraudulently taken by city lawyers and businessmen.
M/s Maria Ssimbwa 79, accuses a former lawyer to her late husband,  a one Muniafu Mukhembo Philip to have orchestrated this fraud when he allegedly fraudulently assumed ownership of over 350 acres of land formerly belonging to the Estate of the late Ssekabaka Daudi Chwa II and has since used funny court orders and proceedings to grab the same and sale it to a chain of businessmen and mafias.
“President Museveni help me restrain Mukhembo from grabbing our land. You know where you got us with your late friend prince Ssimbwa. Mukhebo was only supposed to get only 10 percent of late Ssimbwa’s shares but has now taken the whole land a thing we cannot accept. We have tried undo this but mafias play us left and right using the weak legal system . I now request your person to intervene,” cried out Maria Ssimbwa at the said land which is being levelled for sale and development.
Prince Ssimbwa’s land that was being grabbed
The land in question is comprised of Kyaggwe Block 113 located in Nantabulirwa along Seeta-Namiryango Road measuring to over 350 acres and formerly occupied by forestry.
According to a 2015 high court judgement by lady justice Percy Night Tuhaise arising from miscellaneous Application no 278 of 2015 in the family division , Mukhembo lost his bid to take the entire land and only allowed his 10 percent shares but has since done the opposite.
Through his lawyers Wameli & Co Advocates, Mukhembo has filed several court applications through which he is said to have gotten resultant orders to subdivide, sale and or use this land to the objection of Ssimbwa’s family members.
Mukhembo is said to have sold of the land to various individuals including Wilfred Bugingo of state house, Mr Swabur Marzuk,Mr Bob Ewange and Col Mugyenyi among others.
Speaking from the said land, Miss Maria Ssimbwa who was in company of Nnalinya Gladys Nandawula and Prince Ssimbwa’s sons Jjuuko Fred, Ssuuna Mukuuma Robert,David Bamweyana and others said, Mukhembo had been dismissed by late Ssimbwa way back in 2010 when he lost confidence in him. Prince Ssimbwa died in 2014 four years later.
But when contacted, Mr Anthony Wameli said , “ That land was for our client  Mukhembo but has sold it. He offered legal services to the late prince Ssimbwa who was one of the administrators of the late Sir Daudi Chwa’s estate but they did not hornor their terms and we went to court winning them”
Wameli said Mukhendo had been tipped to get 10 percent of Ssimbwa’s shares and when they overweighed he was demanding about 160 billions.
He said on getting court orders for Mukhembo to get paid they identified this land in Seeta which only fetched 100 billions so Ssimbwa family are still owe Mukhembo about 60 billions. He said they have no problem getting that money and give them back the land after compensating those they sold to.
