The girl who was arrested and jailed for criticizing Spice Diana’s Lugogo Cricket Oval concert has been granted police bond.

The bond was given to her on January 30, 2023 and was ordered to report to police on February 1.

She was arrested and detained at the Central Police Station on January 28th, 2023 after Spice Diana’s manager Roger Lubega filed a case of defamation to the police.

The dancer claimed that Roger threatened to kill her for saying Spice Diana’s live performance was very poor despite singing on a big modern stage with lots of lights.

Before her release, former team no sleep singer Sheeba Karungi accepted to help Ritah Nasaazi aka Ritah dancehall come out of Prison.

In a social media post, Sheeba said she got to know about her arrest in the news but said she was going to do her best to save her.

She said there should have been a better way to sort the cat fights between her and Spice Diana’s management.

She promised to make a phone call to sort everything and ended with a hashtag #FreeRita

“Weird Fact, When I posted the video of me & one of my favorite dancers @ritahdanchallwide , I had no idea of what’s happening (honestly I am still in shock). I am sad that it had to get that far cause I personally don’t think it should have gotten that far. I still think there could’ve been a better way to settle this,” she posted on Facebooks account.

She added by saying that there are better ways of solving such issues rather than imprisoning someone with no evidence against what she said in her video.

Indeed, section 179 of the Uganda penal code states that; “any person who, by print, writing, painting, effigy or by any means otherwise that solely gestures, spoken words or other sounds,, unlawfully publishes any defamatory matter concerning another person, with intent to defame that person, commits the misdemeanor.
