Bugoosi reveals how the blind are neglected in Uganda

Sarah Bugoosi, Commissioner Ministry of Education and Sports says only between 1% & 7% of the millions of books published worldwide are made available to the millions of persons in the world who are blind, visually impaired & print disabled. As of 2020, the Special Needs Enrollment stands at 9073.

She says 7.2% of persons with disabilities experience visual functional difficulty in Uganda &lack adequate access to print materials. Therefore the Ministry is intervening & providing digital materials to ease access to information to students with special needs she adds.
