UCC BOSS GODFREY MUTABAZI AND REA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR GODFREY TURYAHIKAYO FACE AXE OVER DIRTY DEALS

Two heads of state enterprises in Uganda are facing axe over dirty deals, the Uganda Drone has learnt. Godfrey Mutabazi, the Executive Director of Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and Godfrey Turyahikayo, the Executive Director of Rural Electrification Agency (REA), are reportedly under security scrutiny over dirty deals.

The Uganda Drone has exclusively learnt that the two directors of government enterprises have amassed much wealth that shocked authorities in government. This prompted authorities to dispatch a team to find out the truth.

As it is, the intelligence team gathered that the directors are stinking rich; they own pseudo firms, which they award contracts at inflated costs. Besides, both directors are allegedly involved in bichupuli businesses.

For example, tax payers were asked to pay for their electricity poles in rural areas; each pole was paid for sh600,000 while villages were being electrified. This, according to intelligence is the tip of an iceberg. There are many worrying and shocking deals. For instance, the firms that supply products are indirectly connected to the bosses.

On the moral part, the intelligence gathered that the directors secured furnished rooms attached to their offices, which they claim are resting lounges, but they have beds there that are used for conjugal marathons.

At UCC, for example, some staff members were terminated, but to the shock of intelligence team, these members were paid more than sh500m as compensation for no good reason. Further probe by intelligence revealed that the compensation was to gag the members not to reveal the dirty deals at UCC.

Still at UCC, bichupuli contracts are reportedly awarded to firms which allegedly bring in kick backs or are indirectly connected to bosses.

Due to such bichupuli, under qualified TV stations and Fm radio stations have mushroomed in the country. Intelligence revealed there is too much money at UCC and REA, which is always squandered.
