President Museveni has confirmed the 9 cases of COVID-19 in Uganda though the first case was on recovery route. Mr. Museveni has then suggested that residents should use bicycles as alternative means of transport.

The president has also warned traders against hiking of food prices.  Mr. Museveni who was evidently annoyed, referred to such traders as crooks. “The virus has nothing to do with food, why are you hiking prices. I will send my spies and if they find you overcharging people we shall cancel your licence,” a visibly vexed President Museveni asserted.

“My next worry is production, if people in the factories were like farmers, I would not worry because farmers are isolated.  Factories are endangered, they use public transport in the city. If we had bicycles, I would have suspended the public transport,” warned the president.

He assured citizens that tomorrow (Wednesday, March 25th, 2020) there would be a cabinet meeting and that water issues would be sorted out so that Ugandans can get enough cheap was to use in fight the COVID-19.

The President regretted the oversight of not closing the airport in time. He said if we had closed the airport two days before these people would not have entered.  However, the president explained that some consultations were needed before closing the airport.  For instance, there was a need to analyse international law and the like.

The President said the situation was not out of control, Uganda shall handle it.  He empathized three important  ways of using in chasing away COVID-19. The first way, the president said, ” do not get near anybody who is coughing or sneezing. Secondly, wash your hands, thirdly, do not touch your eyes or mouths anyhow.”

He had said the doctors assured him the first case was on his recovery route. That his appetite was encouraging. This gave him hopes that COVID-19 was treatable.  Finally, he cautioned the passengers who escaped into the society that they were endangering their lives.
