Victoria University Vice Chancellor holds Ugandan Card

The Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) yesterday confirmed the arrest of Victoria University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga.

Muganga, according to the army spokesperson Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso was picked from his office in Kampala during a joint operation on Thursday.

“It is true he has been arrested by joint forces in a joint operation. His status in Uganda is not clear because he holds a foreign passport and has no work permit,” Byekwaso said. She said Muganga was suspected of espionage.

As it is, Muganga holds the Ugandan National Identity Card.  According to the card, he was born on 14th February 1976.  The card will expire on 18th November, 2029; meaning it is newly issued.

10) His a personal friend to Gen Mugambage who now seats on Uganda desk.
11) He got the VC job at Victoria through Andrew Mwenda.
12) Rwanda is building a new network after Uganda’s security dismantled their networks. These networks will be run by people born and grew in Buganda region.
N.B: He has been using Canadian passport in all his travels, but with no work permit.
At the time of his arrest, he was holding a newly issued Ugandan National Identity Card.
