Kale Kayihura charged in court martial

Former Inspector General of the Uganda Police Force, General Kale Kayihura has been charged with the Kidnap and Repatriation of Rwandese Nationals from Kampala.

Kayihura who appeared this morning at the Makindye Military Court martial was also charged with arming the boda boda 2010 groups headed by Hajji Kitata and failure to manage and arming the different security organs he had formed within Police.

The three charges read to him are two counts of failure to protect war materials, kidnapping of Rwandan citizens.

He denied the charges and has been remanded until the 28th of August when his bail application will be heard.

This comes after a long time of waiting. This long waiting made Ugandans speculate a lot.  The former Police Chief Gen. Kale Kayihura  was remanded to Mbuya headquarters, till August 28, 2018.

In simple terms, the charges he faces include; repatriation of Rwandan dissidents , illegally issuing fire arms to civilian groups like Kitata and failing to protect military materials/stores.
