All Saints Church loses Rev Canon Gelenga to COVID-19
All Saints Church, Nakasero has lost a man of God to COVID-19, Rev Canon Gelenga, has gone home to his Creator! According to a statement by Caleb Alaka on behalf of West Nile Foundation, Rev. Canon Stephen Gelenga passed on at Mulago Hospital.
“We finally reached the limits of our human efforts and this morning Friday August 27, 2021 our most loved Reverend Stephen Gelenga passed on from Mulago National referral hospital. Arrangements for burial will be communicated in due course, but I ask you to pray for his soul and for God to have mercy and give strength to the family he has left behind,” Alaka stated.

He further stated, “I would also like to express gratitude to all of you who made great sacrifices and contributed materially and spiritually towards his treatment, but the Lord’s timing is the best.”
Alaka said that Reverend Gelenga was many things to us; a husband, father, friend in-law, uncle, grandfather, and above all a spiritual advisor, but we will remember him more for his genuine love for people of all walks of life.
“As we continue to stand with the family during this most trying time, contributions towards funeral expenses will be received on behalf of our fraternity by John Toa who had already been involved in efforts to save his life on his known numbers 0772008450, 0752489228. Thank you and may the good Lord Rest the soul of Rev. Gelenga Stephen in Peace,” Caleb Alaka signed off.
Mourners have described the late Rev Canon Stephen Gelenga as a father, friend and lover of animals ahead of a funeral service for him  today at All Saints Nakasero.

Rev Gelenga, who served, among others, at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero, passed away from Mulago National Referral Hospital last Friday. He was 66

“Rev Gelenga was a husband, father, friend, in-law, uncle, grandfather, and above all, a spiritual adviser, but we will remember him more for his genuine love for people of all walks of life,”  Caleb Alaka, a lawyer, said shortly after the clergy’s death.
