Kanungu FM suspends staff for fighting

The management of Kanungu FM 91.5 has suspended the station manager Mr. Nelson Twinamasiko and the radio station cashier Ms.Anita Tumuramye

The two were involving in a fight that happened on 26^th, January, 2023 at the head office in Kanungu district.

In a statement, the management of the station said the two have been suspended from their work as investigations into their fight continues.

“The management of the station doesn’t condone acts of indiscipline and misbehavior. We honestly apologise to the public for this incident,” they said

According to the statement, the station manager Mr.Nelson and Twinamasiko has no case to answer because he was defending himself from Ms.Anita Tumuramye who confronted at attacked him while he was leaving the studio after hosting a two hour talk show

Mr. Twinamasiko introduced new reforms in the management of radio. This did not make some workers happy including Ms. Anita.

The new reforms included following included proper book accounting and clear financial spending which angered Anita Tumuramye and others

The statement reveals that the cause of the fight was when Mr. Twinamasiko refused to give Mr.s Anita Tumuramye commission because she had not put her requisition in writing

On the evening of 26^th, January, 2023, at about 8:00pm, Ms. Anita Tumuramye (cashier) came to the office of Mr. Twinamasiko and demanded to be paid her commission after one of their clients had paid the station for a service done.

The manager told Anita to be patient because he was going to host a 2 hour talk show and asked her to be patient until when the talk show is done but Anita refused and said she wanted her commission immediately without even signing anywhere

When the manager of Kanungu FM refused Anita’d demands, she waited for him when he was coming of the talk show and confronted him by grabbing his collar and injuring him in the face hence resulting into bleeding as seen in the recorded video

The video recording was done by one Ayebare Henry aka Randy using a smart phone the part where Ms.Anita confronted and injured his boss were left out.
